Riding fixed and achilles problems

Is there any link between riding fixed wheel and achilles tendon problems?

I've sometimes ended up with a sore left achilles after pushing a big fixed gear for a couple of weeks- seemed to go after switching back to a smaller one....

What gear are you pushing?

Shouldn't be. Unless you are pushing too big a gear like Dan says.

TBH I found fixed actually improved a dodgy hamstring I had to the point that its no bother anymore.

46x17 I believe.
I'm just about to completely refurb the bike. Single Speed Components seem to have 44x16 as the standard ratio so I've opted for that already.

Not a massive gear is it? are you sat on the bike right?

Pushing big gears up hills sitting down on any bike knacks mine. It's just the load is too much for mine.
