Scotswood bridge
19 miles drifting up and back. sometimes went fast other times slow. my friend was trying his new saddle and it was biting hard within the first two miles, lol...hardly anyone out, a few cyclists, a few dogs. my friend slammed into a post because he was riding too close and didnt see it. i was trying to shout "post" but hed touched my back wheel with his front at the same time...blam...solid post meets experienced cyclist. went over the bars, miraculously only suffered a mildy sore elbow. the dog walking couple who witnessed the take down close up, were in more shock that the rider. further into the ride, loads of rabbits scattering about the place, bit like the maggies. saw a heron on the river tyne on the way back, no doubt hunting juicy rats. four or five ducks floating about and a swan tucked away in an inlet. flies weren't too bad. slightly dusty. and a tad cold. excellent all the same. my friends an excellent rider. i was riding on 35mm the ride was very comfortable.
