Just wondering what the correct positioning is in the following situation.
There is a queue of vehicles stuck in a jam. I filter on the right-hand side. I am able to filter whilst keeping to the left of the dashed line in the center of the road i.e. I dont need to go into the lane of the oncoming traffic. Simple enough so far.
On the other side of the road there is a oncoming bus that has stopped at a bus stop. As I am performing the filtering manouver I see there is a also car on the other side of the road behind the bus and wishing to overtake it.
It would be a tight squeeze for them to overtake whilst I am filtering and sensibly they wait. But what I am wondering is that maybe I should have gone over the dashed line, into their lane to prevent them from overtaking? I think I have the right of way to do this because there is not enough room for both of us and I started my manouver first.
