Workmates just been involved....
A minor altercation (due to taxi drivers carp impatient dangerous driving) turns into an assault on a member of the public by a taxi/PHV driver. There’s ANPR, witnesses etc. and the drivers picking up a fare.
Workmates got a broken nose, chipped teeth and because the cabbie had his keys protruding through his fingers... considerable soft tissue damage inside his nostril.
As said this all happened publicly. By the taxi rank of a major out of town shopping centre. Infront of the guys wife and kids at 4:30 in the afternoon.
The taxi company, approached by the police say “Sorry we can’t identify the driver”.....
So, I’ve told him (as well as everything else) he needs to get onto a personal injury lawyer. But I’m curious, what’s the likely/possible action against the cab company, what’s their responsibilities? If the driver isn’t identified is there any possible civil redress against the company as the drivers in their employ at this point?
I feel sorry for the guy and his family. Decembers been one sh*t month. It started with his house not just being burgled, but done in a way where they spent their time and must have turned up with a van!
