One thing to consider for the doubters is that Mike traveled to Canada in person to try to fix things. If it was not a genuine effort he could have simply put out a PR release saved air fair and blamed others... He did neither and recognized he is responsible for his company.

He might have been choreographed by external agencies.....

As for the air fares, small change vs potential large profit loss

I'm impressed by that apology. Nothing about "we apologise if anyone was offended" or other weaselly phrases. If it was written by a crisis management company, it's a jolly good one with a great command of sense, manners and written English. Proper job.

You do what you have to do... problem resolved.

Not for those still bearing a grudge against Specialised....
I think that's both pretty impressive both as an apology and as a corporate face-saving exercise.

I'm still not going to buy any more of their squeaky shoes though.
Good effort from the guy at repairing the damage and taking the personal responsibility. I still wonder what the result would have been without the social media onslaught. The black tape stays on the old Allez however.

I showed my support for Richter by purchasing a shirt, and changed my twitter name to include Roubaix, left a message on Spesh FB page. A small part.

Café Roubaix:
I hope this is the last we can comment on the whole ordeal, but I am more than happy with how it has been resolved. Mike was genuine. There are no issues between our companies anymore.

We are going through all of our online and phone orders, doing the best we can to process everybody's generosity, love, and support. Obviously, we have benefited greatly from the attention and we are very grateful for your support! Over the next few days and weeks, I want to go back to my regular Facebook & Twitter traffic of sharing great photos from other people's and companies' posts, talking cycling, and maybe a little bit of goofy fun too. Yes, we will occasionally show you what we are up to and what's new in the Foundry of Awesome - Café Roubaix Bicycle Studio!

EPIX:
Mike Sinyard posted this one their FB page, saying the letter to Epix has been dropped. I will be in contact with Specialized tomorrow to confirm and request a formal letter stating this AND that they will drop their dispute to our trademark application. I will update everyone and post the letter once we get it....cautiously optimistic.

So, though EPIX still need confirmation that the letter has been 'pulled' it looks like Café Roubaix are happy. So, a little tidying up vis-à-vis EPIX but it's looking mostly sorted. Well, apart from the Zpesialised dealers....
