Hi Origamist
I'm new here but saw your advert for the LoPro posted by someone on LFGSS.
I live in Salford Quays and wouldn't mind taking a look if possible?
As I can't PM yet or post on the for sale thread, please can you pop me a mail on r(dot)major(at)live(dot)co(dot)uk
Cheers
I know my commuting peregrinations are gripping, so I'll provide you with a further update.
I now head to Knutsford (along Knutsford Rd, Town Lane), turn off just after Mobberley, up to Ashley, then Hale, Timperley, Sale, and then along the canal path (I join at Dane Road) up to Salford Quays. The first 10 miles are country lanes and it's great. Approx 20 miles each way.
You're not that fastMost likely I will now pass @Origamist on his way home at some point - I suspect it'll be a bit of a blur though![]()
Since they've started doing work on one of the bridges on the canal path, I now take the A56 on the way home (from Davyhulme Road East to Park Road). If you get a good run with the lights it's not that bad. There is a cycle lane along part of it, but it disappears further down and some of the slips need watching. In the rush hour it's faster by bike and there are good drafting opportunities.
What's the canal path surface like? Is it still gravel or is it tarmaced now? Is it suitable for a road bike?

Gotta agree - much much faster on a bike than driving down the A56.
Try Navigation Road/Grosvenor Rd/Moss Lane (centre of Alti tuen left onto cycle lane going in opp. direction of traffic) rather than Park Rd.![]()
