Route Transfers

Garminless, and gormless perhaps, I am nonplussed when a kind spirited soul posts a garmin originated route. I am trying to make do with Memory Map and ridewithgps.com; both of these media will import gpx file types but how do I proceed? Low tech guidance will be appreciated otherwise I'm off to the LBS for a 705 plus adaptor for the second bike - £400?

erm can you explain what you want to do? If you don't have a GPS what do you want to do with the gpx files? (sorry that isn't meant to sound rude, I'm just a bit bewildered - do you want to export it to a mobile phone or PDA? Do you simply want to look at them on a computer screen?).

BTW for touring I'd recommend getting a garmin HCx Legend. Last time I looked they were going for £130 on amazon plus £12 for a handlebar mount. the 705 is designed for trining runs more than touring.
