Since the beginning of October I have made 4 ebay purchases for bits for my bike. Only 1 has been delivered. I know there are some crooks on Ebay, but these are businesses I have used many times previously and have no reason to be suspicious of them. I have suffered no financial loss as I have been reimbursed in each case but it is so annoying, and I am beginning to think that people will think it's me on the fiddle.

Last night I ordered another item. I am wondering if I will ever see it. I am seriously beginning to suspect we have light fingers at the sorting office and if I lose any more parcels I am going to kick up a stink with Royal Mail, not that they will take an interest. Their stock answer is that "if it is from Ebay all sellers are crooks and what do you expect, and if it's not recorded delivery there is nothing we can do".

Still report it, there's always going to be at least one dodgy postie, especially at this time of year. The more reports on a particular round the more likely to uncover your goods in his/her spare room with 15,000 birthday cards.

A couple of Christmases ago we lost a couple of items including a card stuffed with cash for the children.
I complained, was told (in terms of the cash) it was the sender's fault!! And even when I pointed out that I caught the postman about to leave a number of items on the doorstep they were unrepentant.

My postie is great. He'll open our front door, pop the parcel in, and close up after rather than disturb us. If we aren't around he'll find a safe place to leave a parcel. Saves a load of trouble going to the sorting office. Nothing goes missing (yet).

I was waiting for a parcel from ebay, waited a week and still not turned up, I sent a message to the guy on ebay who said he did post it days ago. so a trip to the post office to see if it was there, and yes it was, the postman never put a card throught the door to say I had a parcel.

When my sister lived in London, every birthday card sent to her family would arrive opened, and any money inside would be missing. Never happened to any of their other mail, just the stuff that looked like it might contain cash.

I think most of the time Royal Mail are great, but the way they turn a blind eye to rampant criminality is disgusting.

We had one post woman who go behind with posting the post so she took it home, her plan was to do a bit extra each day to catch up, but the trouble was she was taking more and more home each day, in the end she had over 5000 letters at her house.

Reminds me of a joke...

Old lady sends a letter to Santa saying how she's broke and could really do with some cash. At the sorting office they feel sorry for her and have a whip-round, £20 in an envelope is sent back to her from 'Santa'. She replies to Santa saying thanks and adds I bet it was more but those thieving bastards at the sorting office nicked it,

Even if its not sent registered post, the sender should still have a receipt to prove it was posted. I send quite a bit stuff for the Missus, usually second class but I'm always given a receipt with the post code of the addressee written on by the girl in the post office.

Between March and now 2 of my purchases did not get to me, one parcel I've sent did not arrive there.
I have been to lazy to follow it up

I order quite a lot of things from eBay. Never had an item go missing.

Over the years I have had hundreds of transactions with Ebay and with one exception that was the seller I have never had a problem with delivery until recently.

Fair enough. I do ensure that I order from "Recommended Sellers" or whatever eBay calls them, so I think that helps a bit.
