I think it's more to do with the fact that people don't talk to their neighbours any more.

your probably right there. when the new occupiers moved in opposite I went over and said hello as they unloaded. I got a "yeah and " response. I tried a few weeks later and got a similar response. didn't get much more of a response when i went over with the parcel we had taken in for them while they were out at work, they gave the impresssion it was inconveniencinmg them having to open the door.

You're not cycling to Hastings and back then???

Hell no! :-)

Considering that I only know of one person who will be tuning in to the wedding, and she's a complete loon, may be the roads may be at their busiest as everyone tries to escape.

Does anyone know of a normal sane person that will be watching?
There was an article on the Beeb last week, I think, which suggested that more people were planning on doing something because everyone would be watching the wedding than were planning on watching the wedding.

It'll probably be raining (reigning? ) anyway.

Planning to ride NCN70, or possibly NCN5 and see how far I get.

Mrs Monkey & Monklets currently plan to watch.

FWIW, we know our neighbours fairly well, no one's mooted a street party.

My near neighbours have organised a street party and invited us.

I'll be obliged to attend if my raindance doesn't work.

Are you on the rich list? Probably explains a lot. Many Queens going to make their presents felt, or will everyone have their hands full? You have a lovely time Rich!

I think I may watch it in the bar of The George Hotel in town. They're bound to have it on. The only question is whether 11am is too early for a beer, or should I make do with a coffee.

Probably, yes.

On another note, I was looking at some of the minor Royals which I had never heard of on Wikipedia earlier (after hearing of someone called Princess Alice), and I came across the order of which people are in line for the throne.

All I an say is, THAT THING IS INSANE - there are over 2500 people on it, and seems to include half of the Royal families from other countries, past and present:

http://en.wikipedia...._British_throne

What I REALLY want to know is, what if the first 8 are killed in some major catastrophe, and the 4 year old Viscount Severn becomes King (or in fact, any of the other kids), what, in this day and age, would actually happen??

Oh yes, and to Karin Vogel, born 1973 - you have about as much chance as a snowball in hell

King Ralph expalins it, although some may wish it was a documentary
