RS 805 front caliper

Hi, just bled my brakes today and I notice on the front caliper theirs a piece on metal sticking out, I have never notice this before anyone know what it is?

Are you sure you know what you're doing, if you don't know what a screw fixing pin is? Test the brakes in the car park, before going out.

Caliper bolt fixing pin - safety device to stop the bolt coming out unintentionally.

Debates used to be had on MTB forums as to whether they were necessary.

guys I know what an fixing pin is, but this stick out on the outer side of the caliper and it looks like is welded and you can’t even move it.

Although, to be fair, I only experienced these in the last few weeks as I have bought shimano flat mount hydraulic brakes to replace my flat mount spyres. I didn't read the instructions but spotted them pre-installed when unpacking. Not sure why they are needed by shimano but not by other brands?
