I get far too hot in overtrousers, however cold it is.

Ewww s*it mark up back....not a good look
Ah, it's OK, let it dry and palm it off..!

TBH you can't really get mudguards on my Triban 500 because the clearance are so tight, people complained about that (could put one of those flap jobbies on the seat post but I don't think they're much cop).

Apparently not... As I said, lots of people moaned about it. You can't go any higher than 25c on the tyres for the same reason (I run with 23c)
Yes you can. They attach to the seat stays and front forks. My bike doesn't have enough clearance for normal guards either, race blades fit fine.

Ah, OK, gotcha, my bad.

I'll take a look. I enjoy getting wet though, a good moan always sets up the working day nicely

To be fair, that route isn't very busy until after Lewisham or New Cross.

In terms of cyclists or traffic?

The former, agreed. The latter? Good job it wasn't my first time out in cleats last night, I'd have fallen off a dozen times with that bl**dy traffic and the indecisiveness!

That's ok if he stops there and doesn't go more central I guess  A face full of dirty water does stop wheelsuckers though ;)
I can quite honestly say that when I set my commuting bike up, I'm really really not thinking about what other people may like. If they don't like it they can move.

I'm in Canary Wharf (that place where the intellectual cream of the country don't know how to use pedestrian crossings), so I branch off at the hellish Molesworth St/Armpit Vale roundabout, up and over the A2 into Greenwich, through the foot tunnel (on foot) and up the Isle of Dogs.

Plenty of admirers for the russet gusset. Ick.
