I'm in Canary Wharf (that place where the intellectual cream of the country don't know how to use pedestrian crossings), so I branch off at the hellish Molesworth St/Armpit Vale roundabout, up and over the A2 into Greenwich, through the foot tunnel (on foot) and up the Isle of Dogs.

Plenty of admirers for the russet gusset. Ick.
While they're faffing about with that ever-changing gyratory thing, the work around under the railway near the north west end of Molesworth leads you back to Loampit with no lights and no lost and confused drivers. I've not noticed any time lost going this way.

I was sporting my cc jersey, in the same spot, but 25 hours earlier.

So, sorry, not me.

I haven't lost much in the way of time, the hellishness is just the volume of traffic squeezing onto that ever changing gyratory, and having to bear right when most of the flow goes left. I'm sure it'll be great when it's finished...

It won't be great. Lewisham have form with this kind of road design. Personally, I never seem to ride under time pressure so I'll avoid that kind of hellishness wherever possible.
