I think not choosing to have an iPhone is much more hip. I hate when people have to throw in iphone to the convoy instead there's my phone ringing or I got this new app for my phone . It's as if they need to state they are a trend slave to apple.
Having said this we all get phones for different reasons weather it be price, the screen size, preferences platform or simplicity to use.
I don't think any phone is the best as it depends on the user's needs that's why the galaxy s5 does it for me

So really what you're saying is you're not hip enough either.

Personally just not a slave to fashions I do what makes me happy and try not to be a sheep.

Maybe your just trying to be hip having one doesn't mean you are though

It would be interesting to see what would happen if people had to actually pay up front for their phone at the full retail price instead of getting it bundled in an easy payment contract, I suspect that many people would start looking around for a better deal.
That's a very valid point. Down here we have to buy phones outright there's no operator subsidy. You have to analyse what you really need.

I think we are rapidly approaching something similar here.

I note that on the o2 website they now give a breakdown of the contract charges, they list an amount payable monthly for the service and then another amount payable monthly for the purchase of the phone over the contract period, so maybe if this catches on it will make more people think twice before spending the thick end of up to a grand over the contract period on a phone.

I'm back with HTC now, now that they've got their mojo back with the M8.[/QUOTE]
Keep your fingers crossed you never do have a problem with them. If you do you'll meet with real shoddy customer service.
It's very well documented, a quick nose on Google will reveal all.

I'm with Vodafone who were unable to do anything as the touchwiz, android update is produced by Samsung. I looked into this and the fault was with Samsung, they were responsible for rectification but did very little to help thousands of customers.
Like I say, check out Facebook. There are plenty stories like mine.

The 4.3 firmware update was first rolled out Nov 13, withdrawn because it was flawed.then rereleased in Jan 14 which is when I downloaded it.

I'm still using an old samsung galaxy S2, it's still adequate but the battery is getting tired and with each update I find I have to remove an app to make space for the remaining favoured apps. I want an upgrade but I'm torn between Samsung Galaxy S5 or something from Sony,LG or Motorola, I'm wary of the samsung bloatware and gimmicky features like 'depth of field' simulators on the camera.

Yes the Moto is a remarkable phone for the price, I couldnt get over the fact that the first week I had it I got the battery to last 3 days and I didnt have to switch off the WiFi to do it I was gob smacked.
Think I will be buying one shortly then to replace the current Lenovo P780. Amazing battery life - 4000ma battery and a nice screen, if a bit too big and unwieldy at times. But it's an import with it's meagre 4Gb of memory split into 2 and the bit some apps use now full :-( Rooted so may try a android 4.4 ROM first and if it doesn't work it'll be a Moto G

Incidentally new version of the Moto G coming soon, looks like same processor but with a bigger screen.

I've got the s5 and I was big style team iPhone they was great but the just keep trying to reinvent the wheel now the 6 is a copy of the s5 and with android you don't have to jailbreak to use apps from the Web. Did you know the s5 is completely waterproof too (1 metre for 30 mins )

I prefer the smaller screen it fits in the pocket better and feels better in my hand when I am talking on it, not to mention longer battery life. The 4G version would have been a better bet for future proofing, but it had half the memory my phone has so I went for the 3G one.

Hull was one of the first 4G areas and I can't see it would do much for me, 3G seems plenty fast enough for my useage - I won't be watching movies on it. The Lenovo is a LOT bigger than the phone it replaced (waterproof Sony Go!) and really too bulky in an armband out running. Moto G seems about ideal size.

I think Steve Jobs was right with the iPhone 5 screen size, it's a decent compromise between usability and screen size. I can't get the 5" Lenovo phone in a jeans pocket and sit down comfortably, as well as concern over damaging it at the same time. And you look faintly silly with the big screen phones against the side of your head.
Of course smartwatches are the answer, the stuff you actually use all the time available at a glance without having to pull out a big slab of a phone, but it's there when you need navigation or a keyboard.
Apart from a brief period with a company iPhone 4, I've always had android phones, as far back as the venerable and still missed (by me) G1

Is this a serious question? How am I supposed to know? Just because my phone gets ruined by a corrupt Samsung update, does not make me the Samsung Dodgy Update Oracle. Just be thankful you didn't have issues and hope you never have to cross swords with Samsung Customer Service.
