FDd, I think you have missed the point - this is a typical exercise in self-deprecation.Wear whatever clothes you want to. Why waste pointless energy worrying what someone else thinks.

Yeah, right![]()
I'm imagining your posts being preceded by "your honour"I think if I was going to start cross-dressing* I'd be a bit more imaginative than a pair of black lycra cycling leggings!
*Actually, I did do some cross-dressing the other day; I said "Where are my bloody socks?"
Fear not Felix. In exactly the same way there is always somebody quicker, there is also always somebody dafter vying for ones crown.
And it won't take you long in Oxford to find them, I lived there for a while, I saw them.
Some people think the Velominati stuff is funny. Some people take it seriously. Most people think it's bollocks and wish they would just shut up. Just saying.

Not at all, there are a few 'petrolheads' on here including guys who raced Motorbikes (at National level)Sorry please could you explain what the "Velominati Stuff" is. I am very new and unfamiliar with a lot of the things in this new culture that I am really excited to become a part of. I am a massive petrolhead and have been really into my car culture and modded cars that are done correctly rather than someone who puts half of Halfords onto their mums old car.
Even though I have an older 2nd hand Cannondale CAAD8, I am more excited as I know I can do a lot of jobs on a bike from my past when I would tinker on bikes for hours. I've been fanatically learning about setting up the saddle height, the front stem height, bars angle and using SPD-SL's for the first time. I'm even getting excited about being able to give it a good clean and make the bike look and feel great. With my back problems, I have never been able to do my own work on my very limited edition Impreza P1, so to finally be able to tinker away on the bike has been such a great thing for me to be able to do.
Is it "Fauk Pa" to be a total petrolhead and also be into cycling and the mechanical side of things?
