One of my lesser known occupations was , for a short while was ‘ Sausage Maker !’ I got involved with one of my brothers , not my best ever ventures but very different to say the least ! We made a reputable Cumberland , any way there was a fall out and it ended . These days I get sausages of the best quality I can , and braise them , with round uncut shallots , garlic a bit of ginger brown the sausage add stock and braise for about an hour , nice thick gravy with mash and peas ‘
I also like Bratwurst ! When in Germany as a Soldier I couldn’t resist them ! The y have to be Bbq’d though, otherwise just not the same and a big blob of mustard, “ Ein mal Bratwust mit Senf Bitte ! “ I can hear myself ordering one even after all these years !
