Looks the danglies !...are they the original (strangely metallic gold-ish) brake cables? Mine had one really beat up rear brake cable in that colour I thought it was quite bizarre on something so old... like a 90's bmx!

Those cables are originally supposed to be silver/grey. If you look at my new gear lever the cable is still grey because it's in good condition. What happens is they get all grubby and stained over the years so most of them go that brown/gold colour. If you rub them with some de-greaser and a bit of wire wool its cleans the grubby stained stuff off. I did try cleaning my brake cables and they cleaned up a bit but they are still a little stained. I'm hoping to find some NOS replacements.

I think mine was made of some sort of 'post war shortage fibre' rather than plastic (almost flaky like hardboard!) I've settled for black the only Raleigh ended ones I could find... good luck!

I just saw this on ebay local to me so I snapped it up. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Its another Pathfinder. Mine has a few little bits like nuts and washers missing so I'm going to use the new one as a parts donor then I'll be selling the rest off as parts on ebay.

Some more progress. My replica transfer for the rear guard came today! They are very good and high quality replicas I'm really please with it. The only thing that is annoying me is that I put it on slightly off center  But when I look at how it was before I think the original was slightly off center too so that makes me feel a bit better haha. Even though this is just a little touch I think it makes a massive difference and looks much better now.

I have taken what I needed from the doner bike. Only little things like brake cables and a few nuts and bolts. here is the rest of it and it's actually in great condition. All it needs to complete it is some rims. tyres, tubes. Would anyone like to buy this as an almost complete bike? If not I will be selling the bits separately.
