I have been successful up to a point with my first attempt at scanning ^_^ and saving it as a file (jpeg).

The scanned document is crisply clear, despite the fact that is has lots of grid lines on it. I opened the document with or in :unsure:Paint and started adding text boxes.

I have, by trial and error, found a font size that looks ok when the document is printed. The printed document has less fuzziness on the lines, than the original for some reason.

Most of the contents of the boxes will not change. It is a mileage claim form and the mileage allowance and the distance will not change very often.

My knowledge of "Paint" is limited. My question is this: Once I have created a text box, and put, for instance a date, the next month I will want to change all the dates.

I cannot :blush:get back into the same text box. Do I have to delete the whole text box, or can I just change the wording in the text box. Should I have saved it as a pdf file?

I know that it is a Friday evening, and you may be going out, or just relaxing, but I am hoping some kind person might be able to help me. Please bear in mind my lack of techno expertise. ^_^

Take the original and modify it with the fixed details and save as a new file then simply create new ones from it. Saving it as a pdf wouldn't help unless you have a pdf editor

Speicher: is there not a template of a milage claim you could download, instead of this scanned one?

Import the image as a background in ms word. Add the text boxes to the relevant places then you can amend these text boxes as you chose when you reopen the word document.

No, unfortunately not. The mileage claim form is a special one designed by someone in the organisation.

It has been a good exercise in that I am now more familiar with how to use Paint. I am sure there is a way of pressing and holding control or alt, and pressing another key, to line up the boxes. I am very nearly there, and think I will persevere.

Using paint, I think, will end up saving it as an uneditajbke document as it will flattened to an image upon save. Something like adobe photoshop will allow text boxes but honestly, ms word will be easier.
