Schoolboy error

On Sunday morning whilst waiting for the frost to clear and the sun to come up my wife was chatting to number 2 daughter on the phone. It turns out my son in law had cried off his early morning ride due to the ice. I called round on my way up to Edenfield and invited him to join me. Up to Edenfield where the café was closed . Down to Rawtenstall and up and over Holcombe Hill. He was a speck on the distant horizon and got chilled waiting for me to gasp my way up each rise.

Perhaps I should mention he competes in Triathlons and is 30 years my junior and rides a carbon bike with no mudguards or rack.

Lesson learned.

Whereabouts in Radcliffe are you? I work on Eton Hill Road. Could meet for a pint one lunch time if you fancied, the Old Cross is my nearest.

I used to live in Summerseat from where Robin Road up to Holcombe then the zig-zags to the Peel Tower were my trade route on the mountain bike.
