My Krylions came today along with my replacement wheels. Fairly easy to fit and look the part (red/black). Managed to get 115psi in them easy enough.

I'm hoping to get out later tonight for a short ride to try them and the wheels out.

Are you actually having problems with the Blizzards? Nothing wrong with them unless you're having issues.

I like to ride with a bit of confidence I'm not going to get a visit from the p****** fairy so I tend to have a league table of £ per mile per puncture. At the top of the list (ie worst) is the GP 4 Seasons. For the price (around £35) I got way to many visits from the fairy. The Rubinos at £11 a go and around 2,000 miles between visits are pretty good. The best was Vittoria Zaffiro which was £8 and 2000 miles, however they were very skittish in the wet.

The Blizzards only hold 85psi, the grip and puncture pretection is very good but you get what you pay for at £20 a set you cannot ask for much else, but they just feel slow and let the bike down.

I didn't realise the Blizzards were so low pressured. It's true that you get what you pay for but I think with all the tyres I've had the only thing that will make the bike faster is putting someone else in the saddle

Yep agree with that, after 52 miles today in 3 hours and 20 odd mins i feeel the same, think i need something that holds about 30 psi and has a motor, may be a motor bike, :bicycle:

ditto, mine came today too mine are grey/black though but my frame is blue/silver so they seem to go ;) They've been the easiest new fitting tyre I've had too. Not pumped them beyond hand pump pressure yet as I don't think I'll be riding them for a while, came down with flu on Saturday night  Whilst the flu is thankfully passing, I'm still choked with a cough/ cold  My replacement wheels (Model B's) came months ago but I'm keeping them until the spring and the roads improve.

Did you get a good deal with the tyres, i am thinking more and more about this tyre if the price is wright ?

Had Gatorskin Hardshells on my Cube last winter bombproof in my experience . Bought Schwalbe Ultremo DD's for first sportive in July. Ruined in one wet 70 mile ride. They rolled and gripped beautifully but were absolutely shredded to the point of being unusable again after a day on the roads of West Berks/south Oxfordshire.Weather was diabolical though. Flint central.

As to gator skins, until today, I've been running a borrowed one on the front and in the 1600 miles I had it I was very impressed, no p'tures and contrary to reports extremely grippy in the wet (I only run the front at 80-95psi which may help), it pulled me through many a skid of the rear rubino (running at 100-110psi) and probably my tightest ever turn when I overcooked a rbt

I'm pretty sure that you can run them at 115psi. I'll check my bike tomorrow but I put 100 in mine.

Never managed to get out. Just back in from hospital with my youngest daughter

Thankfully she is ok though  But it took 3 doctors nigh on 6 hours to diagnose an upper respiratory tract viral infection

Hoping to get out for a wee spin tomorrow, I've also put on a new rear mech, cassette and chain for the first time ever so i'll be riding with trepidation incase i've mucked it up, fingers crossed it goes well.

That a bit of a coincidence that, I was up all night with my youngest son complaining of head pain, he could not look at the bright lights so off to the emergency doctors at 3 in the morning, diagnosed as ear infection.
has for my ride yesterday (52 mile) it was also with new 105 rear mech, cassette and chain plus tiagra chainset , I also set off with trepidation, rightly so as it turned out, snapped the chain after 10 mile into 3 bits while setting off from traffic lights, hope you have better luck and both kids get better soon. ^_^

With credit to RecordAceFromNew, An article he quoted in this post was most illuminating when choosing what pressures to put in my tyres. Though I do use more than the article recommends.
