Hi. I will be looking at getting my first road bike next month or so and thought I had settled on a cube agree gtc. However the more I read about them they seem more race specific and I think I need something a bit more sportif friendly. This has led me too look at the Scott cr1 your views would be very welcome.

I looked at the cr1 comp last summer and i was impressed but for £600 less i bought a cannondale synapse which i am very pleased with. Not carbon, but still very light.
The comp was light and responsive but i didn't take it very far at all to get a full feel for it.

Can you afford the pro version? if so you will not be dissapointed. I went to a couple of bike shops this week I checked out some top bikes from cannondale pinerello cube specialised all just sub or just post £2000 and I have to say none of them blew me away and the reason being Im a scott cr1 owner of
6 years and the beast still climbs like a mule and accelerates like a ferrari you put the hammer down and it just responds not to mention you can throw it into corners mind you its a stiff ride but comfortable Its got some excellent reviews both over here and in the states. Much overlooked in my opinion don't see many of em about but I'd never part with mine.
