I had to post this because I am so proud that i finally after 2 hours of swearing and bashing I have got the seized bottom bracket out. Moral of the story never assume that the bike was greased before assembly.
An electric drill, a claw hammer, some screwdrivers and a chisel. Where's the BB tool?
How are you going to fit that back on again now? You've ruined it ...![]()

Never put salt on a BB. It reacts and welds.Yes over the years i have lost count the amount of time i have struggled to undo things for same reason
And when a previous owner shows or tells me how well serviced his bike is i always take it with a pinch of salt
I guess it's your time to waste! I'd rather ride, so I grease the threads and do cartridge BBs up properly with a torque wrench. Not had trouble getting out one I've fitted. My rules for BBs, never do them up very tight, take them off every few months and refit.
