Seascale to Barrow in Furness A595 advice needed

    Oh, and yes the train line is very scenic. It's quite comfortable too if you get one of the ancient loco hauled units they are using for some trains at the moment. These also have the benefit of a guards' van, but are about 10-15 minutes slower to Barrow from Seascale than the more modern DMUs

    Avoid A595 . Take to the hills then ride on to Grange over sands and treat yourself to a train ride over to Arnside over the estuary. Pint and food in the Ye Old Fighting Cocks then onwards to Silverdale and rest of Morecambe bay :smile:

    The Bay Way route from G-O-S to Arnside was pretty good. There was about 800 m/0.5 mile on the A6 but apart from that and a few tolerable stretches of B-road, most of it was on quiet lanes and cycle paths.
