To cut a long story short when I ordered my new bike I specced it with a straight seat post instead of the standard swept back one (not a fan of swept back posts)

However I now find I can't get the seat back far enough!!!

Has anybody come across this design of post and happen to know if the bolts in pictures 2 & 3 somehow control fore and aft movement.

Obviously I could just try but don't really want to mess it up if they actually perform a totally different function.

I would say they are a way of adjusting the saddle tilt - I have something similar on a Dura Ace seat post - allows fine adjustment.

There's definitely no other way of adjusting the fore-aft position of the saddle, other than sliding the saddle in the clamp. To move it any further back, you're going to need a setback seatpost.

You are absolutely correct fossy and on close inspection the tilt was way down towards the front. Have wound it back out to make it horizontal and with raising the seat post a small amount it is looking good. Only tried it round the block but felt a lot better. Will need a proper ride obviously to see if I need to do a bit more adjusting.

I'm taking a 350mm 27.2dia FSA K-Force (setback) carbon seatpost off my HC bike this afternoon. Some cosmetic scuffing to the decals (not on my watch). I’m open to offers if you fancy…

To be fair I have just sold one on eBay for a tenner, clearing stuff out of the garage. I will see how it is with the minor adjustments I have made.
