Aside from keeping them inside a well built/secure/locked shed or garage, what else do you do to make your bikes as theft proof as possible? Does anyone use ground/wall anchors, or simply chain 3 bikes together or what?

Out here in Nantong I keep the bike either in the office during working times and in the bedroom when I'm home. However I live alone and so don't have to worry about upsetting a wife or family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chain all my bikes together in the shed with 8 locks. To each other and to a built in fitted metal/wood work bench. Locks are a mix of chain, cable and U Locks. Takes an age to get a bike free but that's the way it is.

living in a flat with no outside space, mine lives on the landing... depending on how much i trust the other tenants, it may also be chained to the banister. At the moment, i do trust my neighbours and their acquaintances so i don't bother. The last bloke who lived above I trusted, but his friends were to$$ers, so it was chained up at all times until he moved out.

Both bikes live in the house. The time they had to be in the garage, both bikes were locked together with the shredder and lawn mower, with the car in front of them and I couldn't settle knowing they were out there.

Wall anchors and gold rated U-locks for my decent bikes

A crappy old steel mtb left unlocked so hopefully in the dark they'll just take that and feck off!!

Ours are in the garage, which is integral with the house and alarmed. The up and over door has extra bolts at the top with the frame reinforced with steel and at the bottom corners. It's quite a strong wood door so I reckon thieves would have to smash in a panel to get in, which would make a lot of noise and we do live in quite a public street with neighbours all around who know us well. When we do go away and leave the house I cable lock all the bikes together and set up a personal attack alarm attached to the inside of the door, which would go off before anybody got in and triggered the PIR. So I feel reasonably secure.
