I never buy anything off a website if I can't phone up and talk to them about it when something goes wrong. Unless it's eBay but then I have protection from Paypal.

Amazon?

Granted... they may actually list their number, but they don't make it clear.

I had, in the space of 6 days, my E bay account hacked into, my Paypall account hacked into, my Hotmail email hacked into and my Googlemail account hacked into.

I'd say there was one of two options here:

a) One of your email accounts was hacked first and the hackers were able to search your old mail to find out passwords of your accounts, or request a password refresh using your mail account

 You had some malware on your computer that was sending usernames and passwords to the hackers.

Certainly if I were you I'd be concerned that it might be  and reformat and reinstall your machine (after backing up your files). It's a pain in the ass, but better than having even more of your accounts hacked.

Don’t go round thinking it can’t happen to you on the high street though:

The first, and last time I had a card cloned it was a brand new card and I had only used it once (which IMHO rather narrows it down a bit). That was in a well known national Pizza restaurant chain - the waiter disappeared with my card before returning with a hand held machine to enter the pin on – in retrospect I guess he took it away to swipe it through his machine first, and then took note of me entering the pin.

My advice would be to keep an eye on the card at all times – and beware of tricks like the assistant “dropping” the card on the floor behind the counter etc – it takes less than a second to swipe/copy them.

Have shopped online loads of time and never had a problem – I’d be careful blaming one online shop – it’s far more likely that you’ve been hacked than them…

I thought I was the latest.... call from Natwest last night (I called them back at the number on their website in case it was a dodgy call.). They wanted to check some transactions. Turns out the suspicious one was a 79p song from ITunes (genuine). They said that often fraudsters start with ITunes just to see if a 79p sale works, and if it does, they move onto pricey stuff. Presumably as iTunes is not a regular place for me it flags that up.

So Wiggle in the clear!

Agreed. Two of my brothers and my GF have had their cards cloned, one unknown - could have been online, could have been elsewhere - one at a tyre fitters, one at a petrol station. The petrol station near work became notorious a few months ago for a card skimming operation, and I've found card readers attached to cashpoint machines before now.

That’s very true – they start with a few “small” purchases and then move on up....

My partner banks with First Direct – think they text her her account balance every day – and I’m pretty sure many European bank text you every time a transaction is carried out on your account – not too sure if it’s offered here yet.

The annoying thing when my card was cloned was that they used it to buy flights (I tried to speak to the airline about it but because my name was not the one on the passenger list they “couldn’t talk to me about it – freedom of information act blah blah blah” even though my card had been used) and they also used it to pay two parking fines and their council tax – great I thought – you’ll be able to catch the buggers – not so – plod only interested if bank gets them involved, bank not interested in getting plod involved – just refunded me the money – I asked for the address that my card had been used to pay the council tax for, and other than telling me it was to Lewisham council, they wouldn’t because of “freedom of information issues”…..

I think you can remove your own credit card details from Wiggles site.

Click My account from the top.
On the left is a menu, select Card details.
Replace the card number with 8888 8888 8888 8888

Job done
I have just logged on to my account and you can as you say remove your card details, I have used them for years if i remember correctly when you open an account you are asked whether you want them to hold your card number to speed up further transactions, you have the choice. this is what happens when people don't read terms and conditions. I have used them for years and have never had a problem.

Well, last night at around 8pm I bought stuff from 2 of the large online cycle shops - not Wiggle and this morning had a call from Lloyds TSB to inform me that my card had been used at 10pm last night to make 2 smallish purchases for bus tickets. I will not reveal the names as I cannot be sure that the connection between the 2 events is there, but I do not use that credit card terribly often - the odd meal out etc.

Thankfully I've never been in it but one of the petrol station's near me also became notorious last year.

515 - as far as im concerned to print this is great not over the top or unfair to Wiggle.

No way whatsoever.

It'd help if they put this on the site

At least
chainreaction
cycles - you can ring them up !

= Totally legit. company

Chain Reaction all the time for me now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What makes you think Wiggle aren't totally legit, as a lorry driver I have delivered to their large warehouse in Portsmouth, a totally legit company, not like some who take your order and your money and then order from the manufacturer and take days sometime weeks to get the stuff to you.
