It's "one of those things", it might be annoying and it sometimes interferes with the riders. But it's all part of cycling.

So being spat at or having urine thrown at you whilst doing your job, is acceptable? I don't think so.

What are you blabbering on about?

"One of those things" as you mentioned. "it's all part of cycling" as you mentioned.

I assume you consider being spat at or having urine thrown at you whilst doing your job, is acceptable, because it's "One of those things" as you mentioned. "It's all part of cycling" as you mentioned.

That's WTF I'm blabbering on about.

So nothing to do with the OP. Thanks for clarifying.

By being "one of those things" and "all part of cycling" you generalised the theme, to which I included two other matters.
As I typed, nothing to do with the OP; you added in 2 other matters after my post which was a direct response to the OP. I can't be second guessing your additions at a later point.

You don't need to be second guessing anything. You could just comment on what I said about being spat at and having urine thrown at you. But I suppose you'll claim that, that too, is all part of cycling.

Or, if you can be bothered to answer, maybe you have a different answer, to which I'd be interested in hearing.

You responded as if my reply was related to having urine thrown or being spat at, it wasn't.

Once an incident of urine being thrown and/or being spat at happens again I may respond; I did the last time urine was thrown which IIRC was the Tour de France in 2015.

Does this running alongside sports persons happen in other sports? I don't think they'd accept some attention seeker running alongside a runner in the marathon.

It has been worse in the Marathon, of course - althought he recovered, this incident ultimately led to Vanderlei de Lima losing the marathon in 2004. He got to light the flame this year though...
