Today I spent over an hour trying to remove a bolt. Tried the WD40, but complicated by the fact that it was an Allen head, and I couldn't find a key to fit it. Tried to glue in an undersized key, but wouldn't hold. Couldn't get the mole grips across the head as it was countersunk. I ended up drilling the head off. The stub was still properly seized in the hole, and bracket rotated as I tried to remove it. Ended up removing the bracket and screwing the stub all through the hole.

And all for a new cleat for my SPD shoes!

Must remember to loosen off the pedals before I set off tomorrow. Don't want a clipless moment at New Street Station!

had this exact issue today, i was careful with a dremel and a cutting disk and cut a line into the head of the screw and removed with ease with a flathead screwdriver! was very impressed it worked, stripped screws are one of the things that REALLY drive me mad

Copper grease in before screwing in a bolt??
Copper grease on any mating parts and along the thread of the bolt.
