Looking at cars ATM.

Loads of fibs...

Little job needs doing!
So why aren't you doing it?
Surface rust! What's it like underneath!

Priced to see - what you think it's work!

Not been mot - it will never pass one!

What are your favourite ones!

First to see will buy.
No time wasters.

Not necessarily fibs, but adds more value to the advert.

The Chrysler Ypsilon I've currently got - with an MOT from a (probably) dodgy MOT garage near me, plus sold by an (allegedly) dodgy car sales place in Huddersfield came from Wales, where it'd been quickly through two buyers before being sold onto the person daft enough to bid on it via eBay :thanks: . It came with this description which I'm not blaming the seller for, but the Huddersfield car sales place:

"No service history but the seller told me that [lots of work] was done and they seemed like an honest person" = nope, looks like it wasn't done.

"Minor gearbox oil leak" = massive oil leak temporarily stopped by sealant because the driveshaft oil seals [still] need replacing

"Aircon just needs re-gassing" = when you've changed the broken aircon compressor you can add gas and it might work

"Low mileage" = because the clocks were changed so it's done probably 20,000 miles more than stated (I should have read the MOT history in more detail). Oh, and that's the reason the Bluetooth&Me doesn't work which needs re-programming by a dealer who would charge more than the car's worth. And makes the mileage flicker.

"Bodywork in good condition" = because stripes and stickers were stuck over most of the dents and scratches

But ... it was cheap. And does work. Sort of. Once the major issues are fully fixed there's a decent car underneath. Although one without aircon or Bluetooth.

@Jameshow - want a cheap Chrysler Ypsilon Black & Red

Lady owner (scuffs on all 4 corners)

Serviced religiously (in 1978)

Family owned (5 generations have thrashed the arse off it)

Such and such minor fault but a cheap/quick fix (but not so cheap/quick that I've had it done)

Aircon needs regarding (and dryer, compressor, condenser...)

Good condition for year (but sheet condition in absolute terms)

Modern classic (old knacker of no intereet to anyone)

Low mileage (high mileage)

Special Edition (the missus popped a Barbie sticker on it)

All the usual refinements (none of which work)

70,000 motorway miles (and no proof whatsoever)

Immaculate (average, but im a compulsive liar)

Genuine reason for sale (its dying and I dont want to pay to repair it)

A common one is photos of a different car i the ad to entice buyers in.
