Hey Guys

THought i would ask i went on a longish ride. for me anyway the other day. WHilst out n my ride i was rather shaken when a van passed really closely Literally i could have put my hand out and touched it..
I have it on video is there anything you can do at all, or is there nothing that can be done unless i end up under the tyres??
For if there was a pot hole or any other obstruction and i have to move out the way a little i would have ended p in hospital fpr sure.

You could report it to the police. If livery on the van, report to the employer. But don't mention the video initially, see what they say

Otherwise, we've all had these, you could let it go. Have a think about your positioning on the road too, could you have prevented it in anyway, if worrying about potholes, maybe move into a stronger position away from the edge of the road

Hey guys thanx or the replys
i was at my normal distance from the kerb usually about 2 - 3 feet so i dont end up cycling over the drains.
ive had close passess before but this one kinda scared me a little as nothings been this close at that speed before, the wind wake after it passed made me nearly loose my balance.
I did check its Reg and seems to be running on a out dated MOT so may just go to the local police station an mention it.

Sometimes things like this happen and sometimes like when we was growing up.....dust yourself of and crank on enjoying the cycling.

oh ill keep cycling, would just be nice if there was something you can do to try stop it happening as its pretty bad if your only recourse comes if you get knocked off. this is why i have started taking my go pro out with me as seems drivers think they are the king of the road and everyting seems to always be the cyclist fault.

Jaykun....i will be honest the whole camera and video has really good benefits however....yes the driver may of got a little close but that dosnt mean he did it on purpose....like i say dust yourself off and crack on.

There's those behind a wheel, I hesitate at the words "in charge", of a vehicle, that simply must get to the next set of lights before you. The one exception I'm aware of local to me, was an Abbot Self-Propelled Gun, that had drivers taking to the other lane.
Or carry your own set of traffic lights!

You can't stop it. You are more likely going to be hit from a right or left turner, as I very well know to my cost/spine. No work for me since November.... busted up.
