True you cant stop it i guess but surely people should be more respectful. If not actually aware of there surroundings and space
If they guy driving the van saw something like that happen to one of his children or something i bet they would think differently.
Like one of the posters said its the "i have to get in front of everyone mentality no matter the cost or ignorance"

I'll be lucky if I ride on the road again ever. An angry transit driver isn't my worry. I can't turn the pedals in anger or still do much, a pootle down an off road path is all I can manage. If I could have got off the floor, the driver that did this to me would not be alive now, no matter how big he was.

If you you was one of those people we call vehicle drivers...you are definately showing signs of road rage.
As i say be carefull......no matter how big they are...classic

they should put it on a driving practical exam on how to pass a cyclist safely rather than hidden away in the highway code which no one seems to read

Look I've slapped a few cars for nearly killing me.

The last stupid driver has ended my commuting by bike, and possibly most of my cycling, oh and possibly my job. I'm a driver too.

My spine was snapped in two by a stupid driver. I'm unlikely to be able to ride my THREE road bikes as I can't even bend to reach the bars now, never mind trusting another road user.

I've been riding road for 30 years and will slap a car or challenge a stupid driver, or WAS. I know who/when not to challenge.

oh dear .. at least you are still here though. and hope you do manage to get back on your road bikes @fossyant

It takes but a moment for a driver to make a mistake that can change lives forever. and vice versa i know as a cyclist can be in the wrong and do some serious damage on a bike also. People just need to slow down and not be in a rush. Do i over take now .. and nearly hit someone or over take in 20 seconds when its clear.. i know which i would do..

Easiest way is move out from the gutter. Your not in the way of traffic, you are traffic.
I've reported two driving instructors near me and come to the aid of a third, claim made by a delivery driver that they were going the wrong way on a one way street. He hit an old stone wall. Delivery driver in the wrong, not the driver under instruction or the instructor.

It's not only drivers who feel free to express their anger on the roads:

True..and i sympathise with those who have.
I was knocked off a brand new £2000 bike after less than 1 mile..large campervan turned straight into me resulting in broken wrist....the vehicle drivers was in their 70s and quote" never saw me because sun was in their eyes"

7 weeks later my wrist healed however the driver has never drove again and still keeps in contact with me or my wife every week.....gutted
