ahhhhhhh she is dead! :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
my only baby (yes i do know the velominati rules on n+1 and a minimum of 3 etc etc!)

wellll the rear wheel is at least definitely dead but the rest of her is okay! i am rather proud of myself for not breaking down in tears and resorting to bike throwing! :biggrin: :angel:

so i am now a cycle-less cyclist! so i now need either the cheapest rear wheel of the 700c variety i can get, i would prefer not to have the B'Twin one as it goes out of true easy and wears quick
screw on free wheel preferable as that is what i am currently running and then i don't have to mess about with spacers etc and can directly transfer the free wheel
also do i need to get the right axle length to fit my triangle as i don't really want to play about with cold setting it!

must be 7 speed compatible
so any suggestions on wheels?

Cheers Ed
P.S: does it matter if i run different width tyres front and rear, wider front than rear

Having half a dozen recumbents that vary dramatically in wheel size as well as tyres then the answer is that it won't matter

what do you mean? do you meant hat tyre width won't matter?

oh and are hubs cast and machined or are they forged? is the cup part of them a separate pressed in piece of metal pressed in or is it all one part?

A couple of choices: one from Cyclelife for £26.99 or one from Woolly Hat Shop for £24.99.

The Woolly Hat Shop one says it's a 135mm size axle so you'll need to measure between the dropouts to see if it'll fit. The Cyclelife one doesn't say but the last screw-on freewheel type I bought from them was 135mm so it's likely that's their standard.

I bought a wheel cheap from wooly hat shop for about £30 over 2 winters ago, its done a goof 7-8000 miles and now i reckon the freewheel needs replacing as the wheel slows quickly and i greased the bearings recently .For the price i am happy enough with the abuse i have given it in all weathers and panniers bearing down on it.
