I have my tricycle at work locked up outside, with a Citadel type lock, but better. It actually runs 2 bars through the case hardened ends of the U piece. One of the guards at work showed me the footage of one guy going up to it, taking at look at the lock, and a look at his bag, and just walking away. Tech Team is the brand, but this one is an old one. Situational awareness is key, around home. Know who lives in the neighborhood, keep an eye out for each other as neighbors, and keep a low profile and low visibility of what you have.

Is it possible to thread a large metal double ladder through the frames of your bikes which can then be securely anchored to a wall ? Fill the garage /shed floor with marbles . Place a rake strategically on the floor just behind the door and place a powerful flood light on the wall pointing towards the door , triggered when opened.
Once installed never forget that you have installed them !

Replace the audio alert with the visual. Should be easy enough.

Needs further analysis, but exterior improvements that are too noticeable may attract attention. Most crimes are crimes of opportunity, not well planned. My thought with bike locks in public is that most of them are there not to deter hardened thieves, but to keep the honest people honest. I saw a picture of where a fellow had used a u-lock to secure his bicycle to a tree. Thieves just cut down the tree and stole the bike.
