Shimano 11 Speed Freehub

Just taken delivery of a pair of RS21 wheels with an 11 speed hub and I'm going to fit a ten speed cassette. Which end of the cassette does the supplied 1.85mm spacer go, large sprocket or small?

Yeah, if you put a spacer in the wrong place it will disintegrate when you tighten up the cassette. DAMHIKT

Put the spacer on the freehub, then put the cassette on as you would normally, stick the lock ring on and tighten, run it on you're stand and adjust indexing ( may not need it depending on the dishing of the wheel, but check ) , ride and tweek the cable with your adjusters.....

Not always. As it turned out. Though I do now have it where it should be.

Not if you set the limiter screw up.

I haven't had time to look yet, but my existing cassette is a Shimano 10 on a ten speed hub, will that already have the 1mm spacer fitted?

? I've never used a 1mm spacer with shimano cassettes on any wheel.

It should be on the existing hub if properly fitted.

Just looked, no 1mm spacer that I can see behind the cassette and it doesn't have any play in it.

It was never this complicated with Campag

Your right. The 105 needs both the 1mm and and 1.85mm when fitting to an 11 speed freehub

^Mine doesn't and I've been using that setup for years.
