I've got a long cage RSX rear mech and a band-on RSX front mech from an old 7 speed drive train. Both in good condition and fairly low mileage but the STI shifters have been sold on.
Just wondering if I could use the RSX derailieurs on an 8 speed set up for a touring bike? Been thinking of a Stronglight Impact triple chainset, a 13-26 HG-50 cassette on a Deore LX rear hub, all with bar end shifters. Does that make sense?
Are the older derailieurs multi-speed, like the newer Shimano rear mechs are mostly 8/9/10 speed compatible?
