Hi,

At the moment I have a full SRAM Force groupset but am looking to get a used Stages powermeter off eBay. There are way more Shimano 105/Ultegra ones for sale than SRAM ones so was just wondering if a Shimano crank will work ok?

Thanks!

What bottom bracket does your bike currently have? You'll probably need to change that for a Shimano one as well - easy enough job and not expensive.

Shimano crankset would work with SRAM shifters - but you'll need to look at the bottom bracket as axle size is different

The bike is a Planet X RT58 SRAM Force but it seems to have disappeared off their website so I can't find anything out about it.

I just found a list on the site that says the bike uses a threaded bottom bracket. (If you're interested, the relevant info is here: http://www.planetx.co.uk/news/products/q/date/2015/05/12/bottom-bracket-guide )

This would be a suitable inexpensive replacement, compatible with a Shimano crankset:

You'll also need one of these to install it (and remove the old one):

Ok thanks for the help! So if I replaced my BB with a Shimano one, and then bought a stages powermeter that was Shimano then I'd need to buy a right sided Shimano crank too right?

Right. But I don't think you'll find a right side only but I stand to be corrected.
