Shimano hub locknut conundrum

Presumably the axle is almost exactly the right length and the cone has flats for a normal cone spanner while the locknut is tightened by Allen key? I like it, the axle end to frame interface is much improved over the old threaded stump with conventional hubs.
Yes that's it exactly. I've yet to see if it goes back together any easier than the old set-up. I always find getting the right cone position, so that it spins freely but with no play, a fiddly job that takes me a few attempts, so any improvement there would be welcome.
