The supply of shimano parts has been pretty s#*t for well over a year already without any added issues🙄

FWIW .. my LBS told me last week that Shimano are quoting 40 weeks for parts ... so if you think you'll need to replace something like a cassette in 2022, now's the time to order .. it's madness..

SRAM is no better - Late Autumn quoted for rear GX Eagle Mechs !

Cassettes, then hunt round for Sram or Sun Race - there are already shortages.

I have a stock of 10 spd cassettes and chains as between us we have 3 regularly used 10 speeds, a spare whole 11spd cassette for the best bike, although I've migrated to buying 11 speed by the sprocket if and when one starts skipping.

5 speed stuff is much harder wearing:okay:

I have mega stocks partly through going no higher than 9 and having a fair amount of duplication on my many conservative bikes. I:m sitting this one out.

The global dominance of Shimano is not a good thing...................
Its a global dominance driven by the consumer.
Nothing stopping people buying alternatives.

I'll be needing a new SRAM cassette before Autumn and as you say, none to be found at the moment, at least not in the German online retailers. I just hope that I can find one before I really need it or I might end up with the bike off the road.
