One of my female members of staff turned up in the office wearing a pair of very short fairly tight 'nude' shorts on Friday. With heels. As she is in her twenties, is very bright, very pretty and has, as we all now know, very, very long legs, all it did was raise the temperature in the office. Good job we have air con. One or two older female colleagues made very pointed remarks to me and I could only point out that under the standards of our dress code what she was wearing was fine.
As it happens I think our dress code is way too lax anyway. Folk wear T-shirts. In theory I could work in my cycling gear all day and be in code. (Though very smelly) Doesn't work for me. I used to wear shorts, tailored ones Bermuda stylee, in the old office (no a/c) but now I just wear them if I'm training it in and change into chino's when I arrive.
