Should amateur cyclists ever wear a replica champion's jersey?

Why do we take the mickey out of cyclists who wear replica kit, what about football fans who wear replica kit..... most of the people who wear those look like they would keel over if they had a kick about in the park with a ten year old (and not sure they do cycling kit in XXXXFB size but football shirts are made VERY large......)

At least by being on a bike in replica kit the person is getting some exercise... which is more than can be said about a lot of football fans wearing replica shirts... and whilst we are on the subject people not into cycling might wonder why my next bike needs to be £700 but people spend £50 quid week in week out on a match ticket (or as much as reasonable bike on a season ticket)

Oh sorry I started ranting then, I'm not totally adversed to football but I wouldn't pay crazy amounts to watch a game

And no I don't wear replica kit cycling or football

Some folks look great others don't! You decide.

Point of order, rather than replica kit this is about wearing champions kit ie yellow, polka dot, national champion etc

Yes I understand that but people before my post started lumping the two together... But I feel the same about champion jerseys as well... If someone wants to spend a lot of dosh on a yellow jersey say, let him at least he's getting exercise while he's wearing it (even if he looks a bit a prat when you scalp him:thumbsup:)

Anyway back on topic.

The thing is that teams change strip every year and the old stuff gets sold off cheap.

It is a good way of getting quality gear at often a third or half the price you would normally pay

That is ften the reason, rather than affilliation to the brand or team
