Should I go microwave free and buy an air fryer?

use a small cake tin/roasting pan/similar, no coating, just plain metal

if you use pyrex/ceramic, they're heavier and don't conduct heat as well, not sensible in an air fryer

or get some foil containers, as used by takeaway establishments, if there's one you frequent they might give you a few free

but it's rather wasteful compared to a simple tin
I thought about this, as it was 7 inches wide, so would easily fit my air fryers tray, but I wasn't too sure it was air fryer friendly.🤔

I use a silicon liner thingy
goes in and out easily and is quite light
it also has a grill insert so the air can get all round things if you want

Yes, we have one of those. And it has handles on two sides so is easy to lift in and out.

Like this, though I think we probably got ours from Dunelm rather than Home Bargains

@Accy cyclist I told you this on post number 3
Why do you always ask for advice but never take it in?
That pyrex as @sungod said is not ideal.
The liners are not ideal either, because you said you like to cook saucy foods, the liners are flimsy, you will burn yourself.
You need something with a solid base that you can take out of the hot fryer without causing yourself an injury.

What are you on about?! That Pyrex IS ideal for air fryers! I've used it three times in there so far and everything has been OK! An air fryer uses the same heating technique as a conventional oven, which we put Pyrex dishes in, so what's the difference!!😏

Pyrex will be absolutely fine in the Air Fryer.

Anything that can withstand use in a conventional over can stand an air fryer (provided it fits of course)

It's just that some seem to think you can't put Pyrex dishes in air fryers!😏

Personally, I don't like Pyrex, but that's on the by.
I'm thinking that round dish filled with hot "sloppy" like you call them, foods, could be a burn hazard for you.
As I said, take care not to injure yourself.
Meaning?!!!!🤔
I think @classic33 meant I was not the third poster, I meant I did answer you in the third post of the thread, but maybe I did not.
Doesn't matter, it's not relevant anyway.

Hang on just a sec! When did you buy it, considering you've told us you considered it but bought paper liners instead.

were you to learn some physics, it'd become clear to you why pyrex is inferior vs. simple thin metal containers 😀

... This thread is a trip.

Putting pyrex in an air fryer is a new one on me, and just seems to be over complicating things.

Can you not just put whatever it is you want to cook straight into it? Ours has a removable basket in a pot, and while we do have the silicone inserts they rarely get used.

He is talking about cooking food with sauces (he calls it "sloppy food"). That needs to go in some sort of container.
