Should I go microwave free and buy an air fryer?

... This thread is a trip.

Putting pyrex in an air fryer is a new one on me, and just seems to be over complicating things.

Can you not just put whatever it is you want to cook straight into it? Ours has a removable basket in a pot, and while we do have the silicone inserts they rarely get used.
Regarding your top sentence, it explains it all below. The basket has holes in, so therefore when I put food in that gives off water, or the olive oil I've coated it in, both liquids seep out of the metal basket, meaning I lose the liquid consistency I desire for certain foods/meals.

pyrex has higher mass and dramatically poorer thermal conductivity than a thin metal container

fine for slow cooking, but in a device that cooks fast it's a poor choice

Oh no! 😲 How will I cope with the 10 pence an hour power use when using a pyrex dish?! When I could drastically bring it down to 8 pence an hour using a thin metal dish!!! 🙄 😏
