This is mine, I carry my stuff in a rucksack as my commute is on rural roads one of which is always covered in mud and farmyard so anything on the bike would get filthy. Use race blade mudguards when its wet and need to attach the mount for the front light.

I bought this 1996 Cannondale R800 last year as a donor bike for the Shimano 105 8 speed groupset it originally came with.
The frame was too good to waste so I retrofitted an older 105 7 speed groupset. I removed the larger chain ring and front derailleur to turn it into a 1 x 7 and used it as a commuter a couple of times before accepting the frame was too small for me.
I still love it for it's rigidity and lightness (9.2kg, light for it's age) and I think the frame is a thing of beauty.

What size is the frame? Looks pretty big to me...

I've used a variety of machines to commute since the mid-90s, MTB, Hybrids etc. Then I discovered the simplicity of Single Speed for fast-moving urban roads. This is my Pinarello Catena, a cheap-ish chromoly SS I bought new about 10yrs ago. Changed the bar/stem (Ritchie Classic) upgraded the generic brake calipers, and added a Selle Corsa saddle. I know we all say it but..... this is one bike I could never part with.
