Ah, it's that day again is it? Coincidentally my father in law is visiting today. He always makes my wife feel obliged to get him a card, I think the whole thing is BS. Could make for an interesting visit...

Father's day (and Mother's day to a lesser extent) is a completely made up event devoid of any meaning or substance which only exists in order to guilt trip people into buying expensive cards and gifts. The women at my wife's baby shower (another made up piece of consumerist nonsense) were incredulous that she was not getting me a card from my unborn child. "Oh, but he's only saying that, he wants one really!" No. I don't. It's up to my daughter to decide if, when and how she loves me, and if, when and how to acknowledge that love.

That's got to be one of the most miserable things I've read in a while.

I can show you my fathers day whatsapp.

It's also my Son's birthday, so fathers day, a meaningless thing anyhow, tends to get forgotten. I did once get into Gullivers world free on fathers day, that was an unexpected bonus.

Just spotted the date. Hope he's lightened up a bit.
Nope, see a few posts up for Mr Grumpy again.

The tat is worthless, but the love shown is priceless.

I'm chill. It's the mothers and fathers who insist on their children marking an arbitrary date in their own honour and then getting upset when they don't who need to lighten up.

Just in case there's any misunderstanding, I am absolutely not saying that this necessarily applies to anybody on this thread.

ETA: Oh yeah, and the cycnical marketing departments of the greetings card companies. They could do with lightening up.
