Can sloe Gin be also categorised as 'mother's ruin?

Gluts of garden fruit have been used to make apple brandy, apple & blackberry gin, rhubarb vodka, loganberry whisky and crème de cassis. They all taste pretty good if you leave them long enough - in particular the loganberry whisky becomes port-like after a year or so in the bottle. Crème de cassis (sort of - it's blackcurrants, sugar and vodka) must be pressed rather than blended, or you end up with a bottle full of sludge.

Last year daughter made damson vodka & gin. As we preferred the vodka there are now 3 litres of damson vodka waiting for Christmas.
