Have to agree that The Sopranos is excellent. As well as the good acting and the violence I could watch Tony Soprano's psychiatrist all day!

All I watch is kid's TV these days.

I don't understand the "sit in all weekend and watch a box set" thing. Firstly, you can't do that with kids about, and secondly it's time I'd rather spend on my bike, or doing something more useful.

I didn't watch that until the final series had been broadcast. I finally got curious to see if it lived up to the hype and rented series 1 on DVD. I wasn't knocked out by the first couple of episodes, but then it clicked - excellent!

Buy a boxed set at a good price, watch the whole lot over the winter, and flog it for a profit on eBay in the spring when you will no longer have time for TV due to your heavy training load on the bike.

PS By 'heavy training load' I am referring to the hours spent on the bike, NOT the rider ... :okay:

You don't know what you missed, I suggest buying all 6? series and watching them continuously until your head explodes with the awesomeness of the plot

Deliberately avoid anything that involves people being voted off, apart from the Bake off and the Apprentice (and that's getting a bit tedious).

One I did watch the other day was SAS selection. Now that was brutal. They kept pushing the men again and again and again. They didn't stop until 4 dropped out.

Downton Abbey.
I saw my first episode last week when a friend wanted to catch it.
Apart from Maggie Smith dredging every line for max dramatic effect, it was pitiable. A script worthy of R4 afternoon play, performances to rival Acorn Antiques, more plot exposition than a Muppets movie.
