it is very good indeed to be fair and does deserve its reputation.

The sequels on the other hand... not ao much, though by no means bad. Over-rated in my view

The book is shyte however

Godfather III is pretty average, I grant you, but the second film? Many argue it's better than the first.

- there are lads at work who still rave about this, then admit that there are episodes where nothing at all happens...

I tried Lost - and I was, it made no sense at all so i gave up after two episodes. Most of the cast seem to pop up in Hawaii 5-0 now.

Tried True Detective too, but just didn't have the time to invest waiting for something to happen

Breaking Bad. But then I watched it all on Netflix and it was awesome.

agree - I'd tended to avoid the much vaunted american shows, but finally watched.this one - truly outstanding. Stylish, photographically superb, great storytelling and superb cast Started as a (black) comedy, but just got darker and darker ending as a tragedy more akin to Richard III or Macbeth by the end

Most yank comedies with canned laughter, dancing crap, talent crap and cooking/baking crap to name but a few.

Lost started well but i gave up mid series three... but then as series seven was around the corner, a close friend and die hard Lost fanatic convinced me that it was worth catching up... so i re-watched the first 2.5 seasons, then sat through the rest all the way up to the finale... it wasn't worth the catch up, it just got worse and worse and worse. He's no longer my friend.

As for breaking bad... watched the 1st series but couldn't be arsed with another 40 odd episodes. It was OK but not that good.

I think I'll let the reboot of Heroes pass me by too. The 1st series was great but then it floundered big time.

Agree about Heroes...first season was awesome and then tailed off!

Go on, tilt your head!
I got through a couple of series of Lost...then got bored.

Heroes - we started watching this when Lou was preggers but we ran out of TV time when Lacey arrived. We've since had a second baby and still never picked up where we left off with Heroes...probably never will. It took me a year or so to get through Breaking Bad, watching it over the odd lunch break here and there.

Just started on The Blacklist, its no Breaking Bad but its got my attention for the time being.

Two "big" ones come to mind: LOST and Game of Thrones. I started to watch Lost last year, and the forst 2 series were really good, however I lost interest after that. GoT has put me off it just by the hype. I dare say I'd enjoy it but I can't be bothered now. Breaking Bad passed me by when it was new, but I did watch it about 18 months ago and loved it.
