Just been alerted via a BMX forum I’m on - that someone (Scammer 😡) is trying to sell one of my BMX’s on Facebook:

So I contacted / reported to Facebook. And they’ve come back very quickly: that they can see no issue and the “For sale” post is fine 🤦‍♂️

Slightly higher rise / 60mm wider bars for the ongoing Trek FX-3 “Re-build” ordered.

I should 🤷‍♂️ have now sorted all the things / niggles I didn’t like on the stock setup.

And with Silver Polished hubs, pedals and seat post. And now Silver Bars - I should also look a little different to the modern “swathes of Black components” appearance most bike abide by too 😁

Big day for the Trek FX-3 Hybrid;

Old wheels out, cassette swapped over to new wheels. New DT Swiss / Hope combo wheels with lighter tyres and discs, Ti bolts etc fitted. Then messed about and got a perfect length set of Ti QR Skewers on, swapped out the old bars to some slightly wider / slightly higher rise and much lighter Nitto jobbies, and finally slapped on some Magnesium DMR V12 pedals.

Feels comparatively: very svelte now. Was originally 11.4kg and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m now knocking on the door of or even just under 9.5kg now. Statically it’s easily noticeable……👌

Every time I reported obvious scammers/ porn etc its been, "this post has not been took down" (or whatever they say) but I got a Farceboke warning and a post took down of an empty field in Highland Perthshire 🙄

Looks like I’ll be losing approx 1.1kg from the Carrera Subway with the new wheels (Mavic Rims, High spec Novatec Hubs and Sapim Spokes): after them being built this Morning and getting this pic sent to me…..

I’m also struggling with going on eBay shortly to buy a sh1t / dim rear light for the Dunwich Dynamo ride - as there will likely be someone right behind me per-se who won’t want to be blinded

After always buying bigger, better, brighter…. 🤷‍♂️

And talking of wheels: the Trek FX-3 had the new DT Swiss / Hope / Sapims finally finished yesterday. Along with some DMR V-12 Magnesium pedals and Kalloy Uno bars in Polished finish - to match up with the existing polished parts. Really happy with the ergonomics - and looks 😁

Good thinking. One of my forum rides finished after dark on the long, fast descent down to Hebden Bridge and I was almost blinded by the super-bright rear light of a rider in front of me!

Make sure the battery life (if rechargeable) will be long enough, or carry enough spare batteries. I have been caught out in the past.

I raised / and played around with the seat height (A fair amount ) on the Carrera not long ago - ahead of the Dunwich Dynamo. And the ride, me afterwards and the bike during - all felt really great 👍

Tonight I’ve begun messing with the Trek. Using the same basic seat of the pants method, but also using the ‘heel touching pedal with leg straight’ guide, retaining a 15-30 degree flex at bottom of pedal stroke and others blah blah

I also knew the Bergamont Grandurance was probably the highest and comfiest (To begin with). And I’d ridden that this week one Morning and it did feel good.

I also knew all 3 were on 175mm cranks. So I broke the tape measure out this Evening and measured from the centre of crank spindle to the top of seat on each bike. And within not very many millimetres at all (Less than 5 ?) - all 3 were right on 785mm.

Chuffed with that. Job done I think 👍
