Just had a walk around to the shop to stock up on Maltesers, it is very mild out and there is a Blackbird singing away, at 8pm. No idea why he's so full of beans.

I suppose it's a state of mind, but when I worked outside all year, my winter didn't start until the Christmas holidays which effectively meant tomorrow for construction trades. It finished about 6 weeks later mid February when the frosty mornings came back around.
