It was ok when I set off to work at 7am, withing minutes I was in a mad hailstorm ...........with an open faced helmet on, they were like bullets. It's been a totally wacky weather day here.
Two swallows here near Newmarket this morning. They looked like they were eying up a nearby garage for nesting. They've nested in there for the last few years so perhaps it's the same two returned.
The geese have mostly gone now. Last weekend when out on my bike I was passed by a skein of several hundred. A glorious sight and sound apart from the knowledge that they were departing.
Saw a couple of martins yesterday, silhouetted and high so I couldn't see what sort. But in a place where I've never seen sand so I'm assuming probably house.
Good to hear about the swallows down south, hopefully they'll be with us soon.
