Someone has 200 shoes, single, not in pairs, to find a good home for. Does anyone have any connections with any organisations that would be able to make use of them? These are a very well-known brand of a good standard.

If you let me have details of any suitable organisations, I will pass them on to the relevant people. That may be a large quantity for any one organisation to take, so you could say how many they might be able to use.

My first thought was with land-mine victims. Then there are transport costs to think about. It might be possible to find a way round that though.

Errrrrm, why is there 200 shoes, not in pairs? How can you get that? Just go around picking up the random pairs of shoes you see by the side of the road?
No connections though sorry.

A unilateral lower limb amputees association?

A well known poster on TTF had 2 left shoes for sale recently for this reason.

Do you know of one? The shoes are currently in Worcestershire, not a huge distance from you. I am assuming that the shoes would only be of use to people who are temporarily or in the long-term, unlikely to have a false limb. I am trying very hard to be diplomatic about this.

Joe, they are new shoes all from the same manufacturer. The name of the manufacturer is irrelevant except for those who might want the shoes.

I live very close to some amputees - military patients at Selly Oak, but being there they probably don't need shoes. Headley Court?

Could you pm me the details please. Even if they only want a few, I am sure that could be a possibility. Of they might know someone who does. Would they need shoes when they are discharged, or until such time they receive a false limb, if that is achievable.

Thank you.

On a serious note, amputees would want a pair of shoes, not just one. They still have to have a shoe on the end of the false leg, they don't just hop about on one leg you know!

And, wouldnt they just use the same shoes they had before they lost a leg or something? And if they have one leg, still use their own shoes, but just use one?
Although i guess the offer of another shoe..........
